Presenters' Information

This year students have two ways to participate:

  • Live Event at the Convo
    • 9–11 a.m.判断,
    • 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m.，向公众开放

Are there special precautions for COVID?

Does everyone have to participate in judging?

No. Presenters can elect to participate (or not) in judging.

How are presentations assigned to a session?

Presentations are assigned to a session based on their academic discipline. Sessions are typically 6-10 presentations.

What are the criteria for LIVE 学生世博会 judging?

Presentations (10 min) will be judged based on the presentation of the work. Presenters should clearly state:

  • What did they did/are they doing?
  • 为什么要这样做?? What is the need/context to other work in the field?
  • How did/will they do it? What methods will/did they use?
  • How will their work further knowledge in the field/benefit or impact society?

In addition, students can compete for special sessions, as are described on the registration form.

Will there be special sessions awards?

How can I participate in the social media option?

学生 和博士后 are encouraged to register 和 must register if they want an Expo t-shirt.

On April 7, students 和博士后 are encouraged to post about their research & creative works to their 推特 和/or Instagram account. They should (1) tag @bobcatsdiscover & 其他人 和 (2) include the #OUStudentExpo hashtag in the post.

We also encourage presenters to post to other platforms as well; just remember the #OUVirtualExpo hashtag so we can find you!

  • 内容: Tweets 和 short posts with an image or two, GIF, or short video. Make sure you use #OUStudentExpo in the post 和 tag @bobcatsdiscover!

What should I post to social media?

要有创意. Tell us about your research 和 creative work. For example: What inspired you?  你做了什么?? What impact did it/will it have?

但也要简洁. Include an image or two, slide show, GIF or short video.  No posters or PowerPoints or long videos. If you post a video, please consider using a site, e.g., YouTube, that provides captions.

Can I see social media posts if I don't have a 推特 or Instagram account?

If you use another social media platform, e.g., Facebook, search for the #OUStudentExpo hashtag to see Facebook posts.

Can people see my posts if my social media account is private?

Posts on a private account can only be seen by your followers. So, even if you use the #OUStudentExpo hashtag, 大多数人, including @bobcatsdiscover, will not be able to see your posts. Therefore, we suggest making your account public for a short period around the Expo, e.g.4月7日至13日.
